Just recently, an unidentified LG handset swung by Geekbench, with its high-end specs exposed in the process. This prompted rumor mills to believe that either the long-speculated Nexus 5 2015 has just been spotted or the LG G4 Pro is on the way, Mobile Burn has learned.
According to Phone Arena, who was the first to report about the mystery LG smartphone, the device discovered frolicking in the wild had Android 5.1.1 Lollipop running and had the model number LGE LG-F600L, which seemingly follows that of the LG G4, which had model number F500L.
The aforementioned site reports that the LG device that passed by Geekbench had 4GB of RAM. It also had a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor powering it up. This is the same unit that's in the LG G4. This aspect of the phone was where the confusion started.
According to Mobile Burn, the device, if those leaked specs are any indication, will most likely turn up as the Nexus 5 2015. The site reasons that the LG G4 Pro is being poised to receive a major bump under the hood by utilizing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and not the 808 unit.
Phone Arena, on the other hand, is still in a quandary. It cited an interview with LG Chief of Mobile, Cho Jun-ho, where he said that the South Korea-based tech firm is working on another smartphone that is more premium than its current flagship, and this mystery device might just be it.
But considering the recent leaks and rumors about the Nexus 5 2015, it is simply too tough to call. A recent leak from a Russian site, Mobiletelefon, showed an alleged Google device, referred to as the Nexus 5, garnered whopping 80,000 plus points in the Antutu Benchmark test, rendering Samsung Galaxy S6 second with a massive 20,000 difference.
The high score, as GSM Arena pointed out, could only be garnered by a smartphone that's ultra-powerful, knowing that the Samsung flagship is deemed the most powerful flagship in existence. In turn, it was speculated that the Nexus 5 2015 will be fitted out with the unannounced chipset but this remains uncorroborated as well.
In the Antutu benchmark test, it was also revealed that the alleged Nexus 5 2015 will come in a Full HD display, which is odd knowing that the latest Nexus to release boasts Quad HD quality.
Should the device end up as Nexus 5 2015 or the LG G4 Pro, there is comfort knowing that they bring impressive upgrades to their predecessor.
