The Television Academy announced the nominations for the 67th Emmy Awards at the SilverScreen Theater in California, recognizing programs that aired from June 1, 2014 to May 31, 2015.
"This was truly a remarkable year in television," said Bruce Rosenblum, Television Academy Chairman and CEO. "From broadcast to cable to digital services, our industry is producing more quality television than ever before."
The ceremony was hosted by Bruce Rosenblum, Uzo Aduba, Emmy Award Winner for Netflix's "Orange is the New Black," and Cat Deeley, host of the "So You Think You Can Dance" show.
HBO's "Game of Thrones" lead the TV programs by garnering 24 nods. "American Horror Story: Freak Show" follows with 19 nominations.

The Emmy Awards started in the 1940s. The first awarding ceremony was held on January 25, 1949 at Hollywood Athletic Club, with only six awards given.
