The purported Moto G 2015 is currently the hottest Motorola handset in the rumor mills, with leaks and reports about its specs and release date sprinkled on the web. The newest rumor about the mid- ranger's third generation upgrade is that it will be formally introduced this month.
According to the Brazil-based publication, Tecmundo, the source of the new intel, the latest Moto G will officially be unveiled on July 28.
Hot off the press, the leak claims that Motorola has formally announced the said event, which is set to take place in London, New York and São Paolo. Phone Arena reports that the Lenovo-owned company sent out invites teasing that a "better mobile relationship is on the way."
Techno Buffalo notes that the end of July will be important for the tech world, with the heavily-hyped OnePlus 2 officially releasing on July 27 and Microsoft preparing to launch the all new Windows 10 operating system on July 29. Motorola is simply squeezing in.
Tecmundo reports that the Moto G 2015 will be sold for BRL 899 ($286). This price, Android Central notes, is a little bit higher than expected because of the country's bigger import taxes for electronics. Phone Arena expects that the device will be priced $179.99 in the U.S.
Speaking of which, the Brazilian publication did not mention a U.S. release date, although it is highly speculated that a separate event will be held in the region for the Moto G 3rd gen outing. Also, there were earlier leaks via GSM Arena that claimed the device will be ready to release in Chile on August.
There were so many times that the smartphone was leaked. This time though, NowhereElse editor, Steve Hemmerstofer, is now giving a sneak peek of the device. The publication's editor shared via his Twitter a live photo of the said device.
According to Phone Arena, the Moto G 2015 will come in a five-inch display that renders a 720 display. It is said to sport a 13MP camera on the rear and a 5MP shooter on the front. To keep things going, it will be equipped with a 2470mAh battery.
The mid-range handset will reportedly house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor. Interestingly, it will come in two distinct variants: one with 1GB RAM coupled with 8GB space and the other with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage space.
The exciting and welcome change for the device, as Tecmundo reported, is that it will be made water-resistant. A separate report from GSM Arena claimed that future buyers of the device will be able to customize their Moto G 2015 before they purchase it via MotoMaker.
