"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" has found its newest cast member. According to Deadline, actress Alison Sudol is the latest addition to the ensemble, snagging the role of Tina's younger sister, Queenie, who is one of the people Newt Scamander comes across in New York during his quest to find and identify magical beasts.
The "Harry Potter" spinoff will serve as Sudol's feature film debut, as per Variety. She stars in Amazon's comedy-drama series "Transparent" and was on the mystery action-thriller "Dig" that aired briefly in USA Network and starred "Harry Potter" alum Jason Isaacs better known as Lucius Malfoy.
Entertainment Weekly writes that the new "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" star is most acknowledged in the music industry. She is a pianist and a singer-songwriter, who goes by the moniker "A Fine Frenzy." Check out her songs and music videos on her YouTube Account, AFineFrenzyVEVO.
Under that name, Sudol released her debut album, "One Cell in the Sea," in 2007 and returned in 2009 with another album, "Bomb in a Birdcage," as stated by The Hollywood Reporter. Sudol was director David Yates' choice for the role, as previously reported by Books N Review.
"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" follows the quest of magizoologist Newt Scamander, played by Oscar-winning-actor Eddie Redmayne, as he travels high and low in search of mystical beasts. Katherine Waterston will join the actor in the flick as American witch, Porpentina or simply Tina.
As stated by Variety, Josh Gad and John Krasinski are vying for the role of Newt's nemesis, Jacob. In another Books N Review report, "The Perks of Being A Wallflower" star Ezra Miller, who is also tapped to play "The Flash" under Warner Bros, is rumored to play the role of Kredan.
Variety adds that the "Harry Potter" spinoff will be the first ever film that JK Rowling will write a screenplay for. The movie is set 70 years prior to the daring tales and adventures of the Chosen One.
As noted by Comicbook, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" was merely a book at Hogwarts that was mentioned in the "Harry Potter" films. Newt himself wrote it, and, it turns out, Rowling has developed an actual volume for it too.
"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" will set alight once more the ever-growing world of Harry Potter come November 18, 2016.
