JeffThe420Chef sealed the deal with publisher Harper Wave for his new cannabis-inspired cookbook set to be released in 2016, Entertainment Weekly reports. The upcoming cookbook will feature more than a hundred varieties of recipes infused with marijuana featuring the author's kitchen creations, Cannabutter and Cannaoils, ingredients that are neutral and do not contain a distinct, and often off-putting cannabis smell. Aside from recipes, the book will also contain tricks in preparing and cooking marijuana safely.
The mysterious chef behind the revolutionary cookbook wants to remain anonymous, but his work has been well-known among the rich and the famous. The Daily Beast dubbed him as the "Julia Child of Weed", in reference to the famous American chef and author. JeffThe420Chef first had his try on "edibles" or food infused with marijuana when he was in college. Unfortunately, the taste did not sit well him. Several years later, the chef had developed Cannabutter and Cannoils and is now called the "King of Edibles" by Elite Daily.
According to JeffThe420Chef's official website, Jeff, who refused to give real identity, had gained following after the legalization of marijuana for recreational use in Colorado and Washington. What first started as free samples of his cannabis-infused baked goods has now become his life's calling. He also began catering marijuana meals privately, then moving on to offer cooking class in marijuana-legal states called "The Art of Cooking With Marijuana".
"Edibles" have long been popular among cannabis users and has come a long way after the hash brownies. Pizza, pretzels, and cheesecake are just some of the dishes that can be prepared with marijuana. Westender reports that users of the edible cannabis would feel a certain "body buzz" or relaxation after eating cannabis-infused dishes.
Marijuana dishes are becoming more and more popular nowadays, as other states have followed suit in the legalization of the drug. "Marijuana's medicinal and recreational benefits are being studied and promoted like never before," writes Justin Jones of The Daily Beast. "On the wave of social acceptance has come a slew of schemes in which to market the drug to the public."
Elite Daily further reports that JeffThe420Chef is hoping to change the face of edible cannabis dishes someday. "I love what I do, enjoy meeting interesting people, sharing my recipes and helping others! All you have to do is get me to your place and supply the ingredients. I'll take care of the rest," says Jeff.
