Adopted Daughter from China Inspires Children's Book

In today's Kiddy Corner, we have the "ABC's of China," an adorable children's book written by Robyn Chance. We just found out about this book when idly surfing the net.  And how happy we are to have found this book and what a great concept it has.  Chance wrote the book after adopting her daughter from China and has plans to do a series of children's books, which we assume will keep in tune with the letter for country theme.  We really hope she does more of these books...what a fun collectable they would be.

Her first book, which has immaculate paintings done by her, is just exquisite. It's the paintings that drew us to the book but we also love what Chance says of the book, "When I returned from China, I was compelled to write and illustrate a children's book that really touched on some of China's history, mythology, language and character." She goes on to say, "I wanted my daughter to be connected to her heritage and to help ease her transition."

In addition to adopting a Chinese daughter, Chance had spent years in China working as a teacher. This explains the richness of what we've seen in the book.

The book is available through Amazon and her publisher shop.rhemalda.com
