Barnes & Noble Giving Away $5 Credit To All New NOOK Owners

In lieu of the holiday season, Barnes & Noble sent out a special reminder to all holiday shoppers about  the "new NOOK owners welcome offer" which entitled all new users to a $5 credit to spend on digital books, apps, movies, TV shows, newspapers or magazines from the expansive NOOK Store when registering an account to a new NOOK device. This hugely-popular offer has been available to customers since September 2013 and applies to new NOOK devices purchased at Barnes & Noble stores or any retail outlet selling NOOK.

"NOOK tablets and eReaders continue to be big hits with kids and adults who want the best experience for digital content, and we are welcoming all of the new NOOK owners with $5 to help get their library started," said Jim Hilt, Vice President of eBooks at Barnes & Noble said in a recent press statement. "Barnes & Noble is also offering great post-holiday values on the leading digital content, making now the best time for customers to load their new NOOK device with books, magazines, apps, movies and more."

Recently, Barnes & Noble also announced that NOOK users can now subscribe to two popular magazines for the price of one. All subscribers are entitled to the last 12 issues of both magazines free of cost.

Users can choose from a collection of 50 magazines. According to a press release from the retailers, some popular subscription combinations include "Food Network Magazine & O, The Oprah Magazine", "People & Entertainment Weekly", "Sports Illustrated & Golf Magazine", "WIRED & GQ", "Women's Health & Prevention" and "Better Homes and Gardens & Every Day with Rachael Ray."
