Barnes & Noble Stores Nationwide to Host Free Curiosity Day

Barnes & Noble announced that the company's stores nationwide will host a free Curiosity Day with "Curious George," a storytime event and celebration on Saturday, September 21.

During the event, booksellers will read aloud from a big book version of the original Curious George book by author and illustrator H.A. Rey.  Children will be invited to view a beautifully enhanced NOOK book version of the story and read along on the critically acclaimed NOOK HD+, packed with pixels to deliver text, graphics and video with stunning HD clarity.

The fun will continue with activities like mazes, word searches, drawing, coloring, creating a Curious George mask, and playing games like "Pin the Banana on the Tree."  Booksellers will also invite children and parents to enjoy treats and view the wide selection of Curious George ebooks and videos available on NOOK HD and HD+, as well as Google Play, providing access to more than 700,000 Android apps and games, millions of songs and more.

"More than 60 million copies of Curious George books have been sold worldwide, making it a favorite of many generations," said Sarah DiFrancesco, Director of Business Development for Barnes & Noble.  "This Storytime is filled with curiously fun activities and is designed to create a life-long love of reading for the most inquisitive of children."

The Curiosity Day with Curious George event is free and open to the public.
