Vogue Publisher 'Condé Nast' Strikes Subscription Deal With Amazon

Condé Nast, a major publishing house has struck a subscription deal with Amazon under which the online retailer will offer combined print and digital subscriptions for magazines including Vogue, Vanity Fair and GQ.

According to a spokeswoman of the publishing house, the subscription deal is currently restricted to only the United States. Under this new deal, customers can manage their magazine subscriptions with an "all-access" online service, using their Amazon account.

"Our influential and loyal customers want to be the first to know, purchase and share, which is why we wanted to be the first to develop a service like 'all access' with Amazon," said Condé Nast's president, Bob Sauerberg.

A selection of bundled print and digital titles is currently being offered at an introductory $6 each or less for a six month subscription

Consumers will also be able to access their digital magazines on any device and not just Amazon's Kindle. The publications will be available on Apple's iPad and various other Android tablets and smartphones in the market.

"Customers are increasingly consuming magazine content in both print and digital formats, and 'all access' allows them to subscribe to both in a very easy way, and read content digitally on whatever device or platform they use," Media Tel quoted Russ Grandinetti, vice-president of Kindle content at Amazon as saying.

The non-exclusive deal means that Condé Nast customers can also buy subscriptions directly via the publisher or through their partners like Amazon's online store.
