Barnes & Noble Stores Nationwide to Host 'Ready for School' Storytime Event in August

Barnes & Noble has announced that its stores worldwide will host a "Ready for School" storytime event later in August.

Barnes & Noble has been trying to get into the good books of the customers yet again. A disappointing 2012 and first quarter of 2013 has forced the company to think of innovative ideas to attract customers. Apart from attractive sales strategies and huge discounts, the retailer has also hosted a variety of events.

In a new announcement, the company revealed that its stores worldwide will host a "Ready for School" story time event later in August. Children and their parents have been invited to attend the celebration where "Dr. Seuss's ABC: An Amazing Alphabet Book" will be the highlight of the event.

All participants will get the opportunity to enjoy an exceptional entertainment experience as the book will be read aloud to the children.

Additionally, every weekend this summer, customers can receive a NOOK Book Two-for-One Weekend offer in Barnes & Noble stores nationwide.

"Getting ready for school is always an exciting time," said Sarah DiFrancesco, Director of Business Development for Barnes & Noble. "This fun Storytime with activities highlights how much fun learning can be through the inventive world of Dr. Seuss."

A similar event named the "The Day the Crayons Quit" was held July 22 by the company. All children aged 3-7 were given the opportunity to go through author, Drew Daywalt's picture book with illustrations by the New York Times bestseller Oliver Jeffers, the creator of "Stuck" and "This Moose Belongs to Me."

"Crayons have feelings, too, in this funny back-to-school story," said DiFrancesco at that time.  "We're excited to offer this fun Storytime with creative activities on a weekday morning, a departure from our normal weekend Storytimes, since many children will be out of school and parents will be looking for fun and educational activities for them during the week."
