Dan Brown's "Inferno" remains on top of NPR's bestseller list for three straight weeks in a row.

Since its release Dan Brown's "Inferno" has topped many bestseller lists and continues to remain on top in many of the lists. After NPR released this week's list, the novel was once again on top, claiming poll position for three straight weeks in a row.

Even before its release, the book was predicted to be this year's biggest selling book with bookstores and online retailers receiving thousands of pre-orders. Brown's new novel sees the return of Harvard symbologist and "Da Vinci Code" protagonist Robert Langdon, and takes place in Italy. The story revolves around the literary masterpiece "Dante's Inferno", revealed Doubleday in an earlier statement.

"And the Mountains Echoed" by Khaled Hosseini also retained its number two spot on the list after making an entry last week at the same spot. John Le Carre's "A Delicate Truth" was placed number three.
