Twitter star Kelly Oxford shares some of the secrets of her success in her new book "Everything Is Perfect When You're a Liar".
Twitter star Kelly Oxford rose to fame with her blog postings and later, her funny and witty Tweets. The mediocre housewife and mother of three has had her Tweets retweeted by some of the biggest celebrities, including the late Roger Ebert, John Mayer and Jimmy Kimmel. Some of her more popular funny Tweets are "How do you get red wine stains of a baby?" and "If you can name 5 Kardashians but can't name 5 countries in Asia, stick a knife in an electrical socket."
Oxford has now released her book, which she clarifies is not a series of Tweets but the secrets of her success and the experiences she's had in life. The book has been titled "Everything Is Perfect When You're a Liar".
So what is the secret of her success? Well! At least in the case of Twitter, the author says that the simpler the Tweet, the more hits it gets. She also admits being a terrible liar and that's what her entire book is about. According to her, the only way a person's life can be perfect is if they're hiding things from people and lying to others as well as themselves.
Oxford joined Twitter March 2009 and within a few months, she had well-known comedians following her. That's when she knew her Tweets were connecting with people. Within no time, she had a flood of followers and was also invited to take part in "A night of 140 Tweets", where 140 celebrities read aloud one single Tweet. Oxford reveals she was the only non stand-up comedian or actor or working writer who was present.
