Amazon announced that its Kindle Fire HD 8.9 LTE will be available at AT&T starting April 5, with a $249 contract option.
Amazon's new announcement comes as good news for all people who have eyed the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 LTE but not purchased it for its high price. Now, consumers can walk in to any AT&T store and purchase the 32GB model of the device in person. The device is now available in two options. For people who are willing to enter into a contract with the mobile carrier, there is now an option of signing a contract with AT&T for two years and getting the device for $249 only. However, people looking for a contract-free device can still pick it up from the store at $399.
"Being the first carrier to connect Amazon's Kindle Fire HD to our 4G LTE network provides the best mobile internet experience," said Chris Penrose, senior vice president of emerging devices, AT&T. "Combining our 4G LTE with Kindle Fire HD's rich features at an incredible price point yields a great value and experience for our customers."
