Megyn Kelly Criticizes Hillary Clinton's Retouched Appearance on 'Something Lost, Something Gained' Book Cover

Megyn Kelly took aim at Hillary Clinton's appearance on the cover of her new book "Something Lost, Something Gained," mocking the heavy retouching that made the former Secretary of State appear much younger. On her SiriusXM podcast, "The Megyn Kelly Show," Kelly drew a stark comparison to Joan Rivers' numerous plastic surgeries.

Kelly Mocks Clinton's Book Cover and Debate Advice

Kelly expressed disbelief at the dramatic alteration, comparing the amount of facial retouching to the extensive plastic surgery Rivers underwent. She questioned Clinton's intention behind the heavily edited image, suggesting it portrayed an unrealistic and unrecognizable version of the 76-year-old.

Daily Mail columnist Maureen Callahan, present on the podcast, remarked that the retoucher deserved a significant raise for making Clinton appear much more soft, welcoming, and friendly. Callahan also speculated on Clinton's self-awareness, referencing her book "What Happened?" and her inclination to attribute her defeat in the presidential election to external factors despite her advantageous circumstances.

Kelly's critique extended beyond the book cover. She criticized Clinton's New York Times guest column advising President Joe Biden on debating former President Donald Trump. Kelly questioned Clinton's credibility with the looming first presidential debate between Biden and Trump.

Kelly sarcastically questioned why Clinton had never become president, with all her supposed expertise in debating Trump, criticizing her attempt to position herself as an elder stateswoman with perfect insight.

In the op-ed, Clinton described Trump's debate style as nonsensical and bullying, tactics she claimed were designed to dominate and unsettle opponents. Kelly dismissed these observations as mere insults, praising Trump for addressing issues important to working-class Americans, which she claimed Clinton ignored. She referenced Trump's memorable debate moment where he threatened to imprison Clinton, a statement that resonated with many voters in 2016.

Criticizing Clinton's Support for Biden

Kelly recently criticized Clinton's dismissive remarks toward undecided voters on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." Kelly quoted Clinton's suggestion to "get over yourself" ahead of the upcoming election. Speaking to Glenn Greenwald on her show, Kelly interpreted Clinton's statement as implying that undecided voters are insignificant, with the underlying message that their concerns do not matter.

Kelly then contrasted Clinton's stance with what she portrayed as a call to elect a compassionate leader. She highlighted instances where she believed President Biden had demonstrated a lack of compassion, such as skipping the funeral of Officer Jonathan Diller and appearing to check his watch during the return of bodies from Afghanistan at Dover Air Force Base. Kelly's commentary suggested a critical view of Clinton's advice to voters and a contrasting endorsement of what she described as compassionate leadership.

Insights on Recent CNN Presidential Debate

In her podcast's "Post-Debate Special," Kelly raised doubts about Biden's ability to complete his term following his stumbling, rambling, and freezing during a 90-minute event. She declared that Biden's presidential campaign had effectively ended that night, predicting discussions among Democratic Party leaders on how to remove him from the ticket would commence immediately.

Kelly criticized Biden's performance, contrasting it with Trump's demeanor, which she described as calm, cool, collected, and strong. She expressed disbelief at Biden's struggles to articulate numbers and accused him of lying due to apparent confusion. She also questioned his fitness as a leader and the Democratic Party's decision to nominate him.

Kelly's recent commentary spans a spectrum of critiques, from Clinton's public image to Biden's debate performance. Her perspectives continue to provoke discussion and debate on the current political landscape.
