The publication of Lawrence Wright's latest book on Scientology "Going Clear" is being held up in Canada until the publishing house receives results from the legal review.

According to a report by The Wrap, publication of Lawrence Wright's latest book on Scientology "Going Clear: Scientology, Hollywood and the Prison of Belief" has been stalled in Canada until the publishing house Knopf U.S. receives the results of a legal review, which is in process. The book was released last month in the U.S. and received grave criticism from the Church of Scientology.

"Given the differing legal systems in the U.S. and Canada," Knopf said in a statement, "Knopf decided not to make the book available for distribution in Canada at the present time until such legal review is completed."

In an official statement released by the Church, Wright's work is accused of being fictitious and filled with errors.

"British and Canadian publishers chose not to print Mr. Wright's book, which speaks volumes about their confidence in its facts and allegations," Karin Pouw, the church's public affairs director, said in a public statement. "Mr. Wright ignored the real story of Scientology in favor of stale allegations and ever-changing bizarre tales invented by a handful of confessed liars consumed with their media smear campaign."

Wright reveals to The Wrap that he has tried several times to hold an interview with the Church officials and get them to meet with him. However, on all occasions he has received negative responses.

"A reporter can only talk to the people willing to talk to him," he said in an interview.
