The popular book retailer Barnes and Noble is relaunching its summer reading initiative. Children can earn free books through this program. Parents who have young readers in their homes should allow them to participate in the event.
The program is open to children in grades 1-6. Throughout the summer, they must read a minimum of eight books. The kids can purchase these books, check them out from the library, or share them with friends. Once they have read eight novels, children can fill out a form with the titles of the books and their favorite parts. They can then take this form to a Barnes and Noble store.
Children can choose a free book from a list created by Barnes and Noble at the store. This program allows kids to enjoy reading and acquire new books for free, and it features thrilling classics like "The Boxcar Children" and "Treasure Island."
Marisa Lascala from The Good Housekeeping was delighted to learn about the program. She frequently visits libraries and bookshops, stockpiling stacks of books to keep up with her daughter's voracious reading habits. Lascala expressed gratitude for her bookworm daughter. Events like Barnes & Noble's Summer Reading Program, which gives participants a free book as a tiny reward for their literary efforts, are a nice relief.

There are other programs kids can join to enjoy reading and earn rewards. The Jackson/Hinds Library System hosts a similar program from June 1 until July 15 at the Mississippi Children's Museum. The program offers a range of activities at the Jackson/Hinds libraries and the Jackson community. This includes story times, museum visits, crafts, and movies. These are weekly activities that take place at various times and locations. At the end of the summer, participants are invited to the Willie Morris Library for games, food, and prizes.
Pizza Hut has a program called BOOK IT! to encourage young readers. They offer Camp BOOK IT!, a parent-led digital forum to track children's reading during the summer. Enrollment in the program is free for children from pre-K to sixth grade. Camp BOOK IT! provides resources to support children's reading habits and track their progress throughout the summer. Once children reach their reading goals, parents can log in to Camp BOOK IT!'s system, and a certificate for a Personal Pan Pizza will be sent to the parent's email. The reward can be redeemed at the nearest Pizza Hut.
