It looks like the story of Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence still continue after 12 years of not knowing what happen after the last episode, and the cast members will return to bring the story back to life.

Disney Channel confirmed Tuesday that it is developing a spin-off of the '90's ABC comedy "Boy Meets World" which will be called "Girl Meets World," according to the Los Angeles Times.

"I'm going to be a father! Well, on TV at least. The "Boy Meets World" sequel is officially happening," Ben Savage, who played Cory on the 1993-2000 sitcom, tweeted Tuesday.

Danielle Fishel, who played Topanga, confirmed her involvement in the sequel in a blog on her Tumblr page.

"First of all, let me say that you, the fans of Boy Meets World, have been awesome.  That word is often used incorrectly by people, including myself, on a daily basis but you have truly been awe inspiring.  You, yes, even YOU, are the reason that Girl Meets World WILL BE MADE. J," Fishel wrote.

"I say that so that I can say this: GMW is a new show.  It isn't BMW brought back to life but in current day.  It will have familiar faces, familiar themes, and familiar messages.  It will also have new faces, new themes, and new messages. BMW never spoke down to the audience and we are going to do our best to never do that with GMW. But please keep in mind that this there will be episode 1, of season 1, of a brand new show.  We started at the same place with BMW but we evolved and we evolved quickly.  For those of you who knew and loved BMW, please allow this show to evolve as well.  Stick with us. Give us a chance."

"Boy Meets World" ended with Cory and Topanga a happily married couple heading to New York City after college. Now after 12 years, the new pilot will focus on their 13-year-old daughter, Riley Matthews, who has yet to be case, according to FOX News.

"The pilot is still in the very early stages of development with creator and executive producer Michael Jacobs, Emmy Award-winning creator/producer behind 'Boy Meets World,' 'My Two Dads' and 'Charles In Charge,' among others," a rep for Disney Channel confirmed with FOX 411.

Huffington Post reported that the case for "Girl Meets World" will also include Riley's best friend, Maya. Also, Cory will be a history teacher, just like his "Boy Meets World" mentor Mr. Feeny.
