Fans are sad that "Twilight" is coming to an end on Nov. 16 with "Breaking Dawn Part 2." However, they might not have to miss their favorite characters for too long because there are rumors are a reboot coming sooner than later.
According to a new report, the reboot might already be in development.
MovieHole.net said it could be a "'TV show or film spin-off, merely set in the same world as the one in the movies but not featuring the main trio, is being seriously considered' with 'The Wolf Pack, one area of interest.'"
The writer said he/she was informed, "They're already onto the [Breaking Dawn] follow-up."
A reboot would definitely be exciting for die-hard "Twilight" fans. It may, however, be disappointing for some who already attached the three lead roles of Bella, Edward, and Jacob to Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner.
The wolf pack, the Quilettes, have some interesting characters that filmmakers could focus on.
"To us, a Wolf Pack show or film may be the best bet. The studio is likely looking at the runaway success of MTV's Teen Wolf which, if you ask us, was only created because Twilightpopularized wolves (the show is based on the 1985 film of the same name) in recent years," Hypable.com reported.
It would have been cool if the reboot was centered on Jacob and Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy).
The Guardian Express newspaper reported that the most logical angle that the film would take is continuing the relationship between Edward and Bella's daughter Renesmee, and their werewolf friend Jacob.
"The logic here seems quite palpable, especially since 'Breaking Dawn Part 2' is primarily about saving Renesmee from the wrath of Volturi, the ancient vampire council," The Guardian reported.
Some reports think that the reboot should center on the new vampires from different clans that will come help to protect half-human, half-vampire Renesmee because [SPOILER] the Volturi think she is an immortal child who will become out of control and a danger to all vampires.
GatherEntertainment said, "As the Cullens enlist the help of others to protect their daughter, new faces will enter the scene. Any one of these new faces carries with them the potential for a spin-off."
CinemaBlend said about the new vampires, "Any one of them could be the subject of a spin-off film or TV series, and because they aren't local, it wouldn't be difficult to separate them from the core group in a spin-off scenario."
However, CinemaBlend writer Kelly West has a new idea for the reboot: "I always thought the Volturi was one of the more intriguing elements of Stephenie Meyer's books. They might make interesting spin-off material."
Summit Entertainment previously denied a "Twilight" remake but didn't comment on a spin-off. Instead they said, "We will happily support Stephanie Meyer if she decides to proceed in any way."
This means that Meyer will have to make this decision of a spin-off. Her input will be important to the development of new characters in the reboot since she is the one that created them and has a better understanding of their backgrounds.
