Kate Gosselin Fired From Blogging at CouponCabin: Tell All Book Drawing Bad Publicity, ‘Demanding, Abrasive Personality,’ Say Sources

A little lipstick can pretty up a bulldog, but it's still a bulldog. Such is the evolving public perception of Kate Gosselin. The reality TV fixture was recently very publicly fired from her job blogging for CouponCabin.com, and now we know why. The money-saving website was none too happy about all the bad press coming from the tell-all e-book, "Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World," by Robert Hoffman.

While Gosselin's lawyers successfully got the e-book pulled from Amazon after only two days, Hoffman's book has caused tidal waves of negative publicity for the former reality maven. And things don't look to be slowing down anytime soon; "How She Fooled the World" looks like the Exxon-Valdez of exposés. According to inside sources at CouponCabin who spoke to The New York Daily News, the website began to worry about its reputation in light of the revelatory book, and finally decided to save face and ditch Gosselin.

Gosselin is known for her past TLC shows, "Jon and Kate Plus 8," and then eventually just, "Kate Plus 8," and most recent turn grasping at fame on "Dancing With The Stars."

Hoffman's book accuses Gosselin of a litany of crimes, but most notably, that she has beaten her children since they were toddlers. Hoffman claims he personally called Child Protective Services on Gosselin on two separate incidents, because she is "sick" and in "desperate need of mental help."

According to Radar Online, Jon Gosselin made copies of Kate's hard drives in a scheme to save journal entries she'd written on her computer and then gave them to Hoffman.

"Jon made copies of Kate's hard drive and gave them to Rob as a sort of backup plan in case there was anything he needed in there while there were going through their divorce," said the source to Radar.

A claim that Hoffman outright denies. "Regarding Jon, as stated clearly in the book, he had absolutely nothing to do with personally giving me any information whatsoever for the book," said Hoffman to Radar. "The other 90 percent of the material I possess will not be published, ever, but you can be sure that if I'm falsely accused of anything and drug into court, or called a liar by Kate Gosselin or her lawyers, this information will come out then, including photographs."

The hard drives gave Hoffman access to Gosselin's journal, numerous emails, and even tax documents.

Hoffman claims he found secret journals that Gosselin used to write her books "Multiple Bles8ings" and "Eight Little Faces," according to Hollywood Life. In journals that Kate reportedly wrote "She was beating 2-year-old babies in diapers," Hoffman told Star magazine.

"I don't judge somebody for spanking, but what Kate wrote in her journal is just absolute violence," he told the magazine.

Another major issue for the website was Gosselin's abrasive personality, and over-the-top, expensive demands, a second source said. Among her daily demands, she required CouponCabin to pay for a personal security guard whenever she appeared in public, sources told the Daily News.

"She's just so demanding and hard to get along with," a snitch once close to the reality star said. "And this book is drawing too much, too much negative attention - like her, karma is a b---h."

Gosselin was reportedly "difficult to work with, often making outrageous demands and just didn't fit in with the company as a whole," said an inside source at the company to RadarOnline.

"Kate thought that because she was a celebrity she could do or write whatever she wanted, but that's not the way it works."

Gosselin's lack of authenticity may have been the final straw for the website. In her final post for CouponCabin, she claimed to be doing home repair work, shopping at Lowes and Home Depot, a story which was immediately called into question by commenters who noted Gosselin was obviously currently on the road for a media tour.

CouponCabin CEO Scott Kluth explained in a note to customers why the website fired Gosselin.

"A series of recent events have made it clear to me that Kate Gosselin and her contributions do not align with the authenticity which we set out to build almost a decade ago, and that Ms. Gosselin is simply not a good fit with the wonderful team and culture at CouponCabin."

Kluth continued, "It's with this that I am writing to inform you of our decision to discontinue Ms. Gosselin's feature blog on CouponCabin.com.

"Ms. Gosselin's contributions garnered both positive attention and criticism, but as always, I respect and appreciate your candid opinions, which often encourage us not to lose sight of our mission - to help YOU save money."

While the book is gone, Hoffman insists there's plenty more to come if Gosselin wants to continue swinging at him, or if he feels like kicking a lipstick smeared bulldog while its down.

"The other 90 percent of the material I possess will not be published, ever, but you can be sure that if I'm falsely accused of anything and drug into court, or called a liar by Kate Gosselin or her lawyers, this information will come out then, including photographs."
