New details on Samsung's Galaxy Note 2 have surfaced.
According to Gottabemobile, Samsung will announce the Galaxy Note 2 on Oct. 24.
"The evidence points to this and the invitation that Samsung sent out makes it clear that this is what's on tap for that date in New York City. And from evidence we've seen, T-Mobile plans on launching the Galaxy Note 2 on October 24th. It's unclear if 'launch' means announce or release though," the website explained.
Samsung recently sent out invitations for an event that could be for the new "phablet."
In terms of carriers, Samsung announced five carriers: AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, U.S. Cellular, and T-Mobile.
Gottebemobile reported that the release dates will probably differ among all the carriers, and that the devices won't be equal.
"All five devices will run on 4G LTE networks, networks that offer speeds that can be 10 times greater than normal 3G speeds. It essentially feels like having Wi-Fi connectivity on the go, something that is perfect for a productivity beast like the Galaxy Note 2 which offers specs of both a phone and a tablet."
"Verizon will be away ahead of the pack in terms of 4G LTE coverage. While it will boast over 300 networks around the U.S., AT&T will have over 50 markets but less than 100 while Sprint will toil away with even less than AT&T," the website reported. "U.S. Cellular is a regional carrier and it still is deploying its 4G LTE network and T-Mobile won't have a 4G LTE network at all with a release coming at some point in the year 2013."
The Galaxy Note 2 is currently up for pre-order with U.S. Cellular for $299.99.
According to ChristianPost, the new Note will come in the next few months.
AT&T issued a press release on Oct. 1 confirming that it will offer the highly anticipated "phablet" hybrid and that it will be available in the very near future.
"Arriving later this year running Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), Galaxy Note 2 with 4G LTE combines the productivity of a tablet with the convenience of a smartphone and the S Pen features you need to unleash your creativity," wrote AT&T.
However, they did not provide a release date.
According to AndroidAuthority, TmoNews reported that the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 version could launch on Oct. 24.
"While prices are not available at this time, T-Mobile will offer both the Marble White and Titanium Grey models to interested buyers, complete with bloatware on top. Among the many pre-loaded apps you'll also find Need for Speed: Most Wanted on the device."
In other news, Samsung released a firmware update the enables a feature called "Multi Window."
According to Hexus, "Multi Window" is a split-screen multitasking view. It's capatible with a lot of the standard Google and Samsung apps and will help users make the most of the big screen.
"With such a big screen in your palm, being able to 'work' with two apps at once could be very convenient to Samsung's newest phablet users. In the Galaxy Note 2 commercial video below you can fast forward to about 2-minutes to see the Multi Window view in action," Hexus said. [SEE VIDEO HERE]
The Galaxy Note 2 will feature a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED screen and a rear 8-megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash and front 1.9 megapixel CT camera. It has a 1.6 Ghz quad-core processor and 4G LTE data speeds. It is also expected to have Android 4.1 Jelly Bean pre-installed and come with the S Pen experience and comes with up to 64GB of memory with 2GB RAM and a microSD slow up to 64GB.
