Does Neil Patrick Harris ever sleep? The star who already has an exhaustive resume with credits like screen and stage actor, director, singer, producer, Web series star, and magician. And now he's adding author to his ever-growing list of talents.

Harris is reportedly currently writing his memoirs for a spring 2014 release date, in a statement released by the book's publisher, Random House's Crown Publishing Group.

The modern Renaissance man has accomplished a lot already in his 40 years on earth. So much so, the chapters of Harris' life already read like a great book: child actor, struggling to make a second act as an actor, exiting the closet, becoming a sitcom star, starting a family, hosting the Emmys.

But don't expect a traditional memoir from Harris. The as-yet-untitled book won't be a straight-up autobiography. The publisher describes it as "a work of imaginative nonfiction that delivers an interactive, nonlinear reading experience that breaks the boundaries of conventional memoir... [Harris will] draw upon his love of adventure and surprise in creating the book, as well as upon the many roles he has played in his life and career - from being a child star to coming out, and from acting on Broadway to becoming a proud father."

Sounds pretty Meta, to us. Maybe the book will be like Harris' cameo appearances in the "Harold & Kumar" movies, but with less dick jokes?

Harris was named as one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people in 2010 and was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in September 2011.

Since officially coming out in 2006, Harris has been open about his homosexuality, and a vocal advocate of LGBT rights. He confirmed this in November 2006 by saying "I am happy to dispel any rumors or misconceptions and am quite proud to say that I am a very content gay man living my life to the fullest and feel most fortunate to be working with wonderful people in the business I love."

So can fans expect tales of growing up Doogie Howser, and behind-the-scenes anecdotes from years of TV work?

"I'm excited to be writing a book of the observations and stories of my life," Harris confided in a statement. "I read with great fondness Tina Fey's 'Bossypants,' so my plan is just to reprint those exact stories but change the names to people that I knew. What editor would take issue with that?"
