'Arrow' Season 4 Start Date, Spoilers & Trailer: Two New Cast Members Confirmed!

More characters, both bad and good, are being added to "Arrow" season 4. According to The Wrap, the newest addition to the ever-growing ensemble for the season comes in the person of JR Bourne from MTV's hit supernatural series, "Teen Wolf."

The actor will play the role of another baddie named Double Down aka Jeremy Tell, who, in the comics, is a metahuman that transforms his playing card tattoos into dangerous weapons. What's interesting is that the character is, to be precise, more associated with The Flash.

As per Comic Book Resources, Double Down was the creation of DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns and artist Ethan Van Sciver. He was first seen in action in the 2001 one-shot "The Flash: Iron Heights." It remains to be seen if the villain will be a subject of a crossover between "Arrow" and "The Flash."

Another star to appear in "Arrow" season 4 is Jeri Ryan, who was cast to play the role of Jessica Danforth. A report from the abovementioned publication states that the character, who happens to be a friend to the Queen family, is aspiring to enter the world of politics.

According to Access Hollywood, her political endeavors will make her a target of another antagonist, which means that Danforth will need saving by Team Arrow here. The actress, who is known for her stint in "Star Trek: Voyager," will show up in the second episode of the season.

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim teased via his Twitter account that the "Arrow" season 4 installment will be about Danforth, with an episode titled "The Candidate." CBR says that this hints that the new season might be heading to the comic book storyline where Oliver became mayor of Star City.

As per Den of Geek, the slew of stars joining "Arrow" for the new season also includes Jimmy Akingbola, who will portray the role of Baron Blitzkrieg. The character in the comics is the leader of a faction called Shadowspire so he will be featured in Oliver's flashback scenes.

Notably, he won't be much like his comic book counterpart. "We took the name Baron Reiter without any intention of turning him into Baron Blitzkrieg," Guggenheim told Entertainment Weekly, who adds that there were no initial intentions of tackling a storyline involving "a bad guy who is a Nazi."

"In fact, when people meet this character. He's not German, he's not a Nazi. He doesn't subscribe to any Nazi philosophies. We were attracted to an organization that actually in the comics had been associated with Deathstroke called Shadowspire. In the comics, Baron Reiter became associated with Shadowspire," explained.

"Arrow" returns on October 7.
